![]() This armor first appeared in Fallout 3, but chronologically would follow 76 as it's first in world appearance. It is confirmed to be an early post-war prototype the terminals in Vault 51. The Hellfire armor was a very early post-war prototype also developed by the Enclave (quite possibly only on the East Coast, and even could have been their attempt at making something to purely replace the X-01). This armor first appeared in Fallout 4, but chronologically would follow 76 as it's first in world appearance. The X-01 Power Armor is a very late pre-war prototype developed by the pre-war Enclave specifically (as hinted within 76). So, a lot of these guys have given you conflicting or false information, allow me to clear some things up. I don't think any of them have an official name. Tesla variants fall under the same armor families as their base armor, they're just offshoots. "Remnants Power Armor" was used for APA MK 1 in New Vegas. "Enclave Power Armor" was originally used for APA MK 2 in Fallout 3. There's a slight chance that it is the true X-02, another experimental step on the way to APA MK 1. In fandom circles it is sometimes referred to as X-03, but again, that is unofficial and incorrect, for the same reasons as above. Hellfire is the last and most advanced power armor made by the Enclave. "Black Devil" appears to refer to a specific person's set of MK 2. It has a different appearance in Fallout 2 compared to all later iterations, which may be a simple retcon, but is currently unexplained. That name is unofficial and incorrect, though it could be used to refer to an early development version (X stands for experimental). X-01 leads to APA MK 1, which is what you see in Fallout 2 and New Vegas.ĪPA MK 2 is what we see late in Fallout 2, then in 3, the Creation Club, and a couple mods, and is sometimes referred to as X-02.
